Praise to the Asian-Pacific Market on Reservation Rd. in Marina! This is probably the best-stocked Asian market in all of Monterey Bay. You can get things there like okra or ginger chips, black soybean milk, purple yam (it’s not purple when raw), taro leaves, bagoong, breadfruit, star fruit, lumpia wrappers, fresh lychee, and much more. They are always bringing in new stuff to surprise me. Chowhound has a nice review of the Asian-Pacific Market, too.
