Just received my copy of The Place That Inhabits Us: Poems of the San Francisco Bay Watershed. It’s a beautiful volume, published by Sixteen Rivers Press. The front cover is a print by Tom Killian, and foreword by Robert Hass. An older poem of mine, “California Coast,” under my old name, Jean V. Gier, is included. Lots of other wonderful writers, including Al Young, Ellen Bass, Thom Gunn, Robert Duncan, Karen Llagas, Lee Herrick, Morton Marcus, Joanne Kyger, George Oppen, Adrienne Rich, and many more poets of the Central Coast area.
