[Update: Sorry — but the yoga classes are no longer offered. The dance studio, however, is still in operation.] Prunedale now has a dance and movement center, located at 8550 Prunedale North Rd., in Prunedale (next to the dentist’s office). 831-210-6823 for information about dance/movement classes for children and adults, taught by Jennifer Crowley. Jennifer’s beautiful center for Creative Dance and Movement (see here) is a wonderful asset for the area. Her mission:
…to share dance and the joy it brings with as many children as possible. We strive to create a unique home for dance in Monterey County, devoid of competition, where young people can learn the art and creativity of dance while finding their own “dance voice” ~ celebrating individuality and sharing enthusiasm.
The Center is also a resource for other arts, too, such as guitar lessons and yoga.
And I’m going to give a plug for a new yoga instructor in these parts. Her name is Sarah Baker:
Sarah is teaching hatha yoga classes at the Prunedale Dance Center (see address above), on Mondays at 9 a.m., and on Sundays at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. I can vouch for the fact that she is an excellent teacher!
Bio: Sarah Baker found Yoga in 1997 at YogaWorks studio in Santa Monica, California. Since her first class she has remained a long-time student for the overall physical health benefits and mental focus that Yoga offers.
