local yoga, local dance in prunedale

[Update: Sorry — but the yoga classes are no longer offered. The dance studio, however, is still in operation.] Prunedale now has a dance and movement center, located at 8550 Prunedale North Rd., in Prunedale (next to the dentist’s office). 831-210-6823 for information about dance/movement classes for children and adults, taught by Jennifer Crowley. Jennifer’s beautiful center for Creative Dance and Movement (see here) is a wonderful asset for the area. Her mission:

…to share dance and the joy it brings with as many children as possible. We strive to create a unique home for dance in Monterey County, devoid of competition, where young people can learn the art and creativity of dance while finding their own “dance voice” ~ celebrating individuality and sharing enthusiasm.

The Center is also a resource for other arts, too, such as guitar lessons and yoga.

And I’m going to give a plug for a new yoga instructor in these parts. Her name is Sarah Baker:

Sarah is teaching hatha yoga classes at the Prunedale Dance Center (see address above), on Mondays at 9 a.m., and on Sundays at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. I can vouch for the fact that she is an excellent teacher!

am very interested in your class. If I come to observe Sunday is that ok with you? Have been having some medical issues and under a lot of stress, so this may be the thing for me………….Thank you Cornelia

As I have noted in the post, this class is no longer available, and in any case, I wasn’t the one teaching it. However, if you are interested in yoga classes in this area, I know that they are being offered in Moss Landing, and also in Aromas. Sorry, I don’t have the names or phone numbers, but both of those “towns” only have one “main” street, and if you just drive down them, you will see the signs on the doors — they are pretty obvious.

The yoga clasess in Moss Landing are through Revive Spa. Peaceful studio with a great view of the estuary. Evening classes at an affordable cost are held 5 days a week. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to attend small local yoga classes.

thanks for letting me know, Alicia. If you give me a URL or more information (who is teaching, the schedule, etc.) I will mention it on a new post in Local Nomad! — Jean
