a disabled dog

Gracie pensive
Life intervenes even into the round of restaurant reviews and reflections on cooking and local ramblings. My dog, Gracie, really messed up her back yesterday, after jumping out the car window to go after another dog. Her back legs, although responsive to touch, are not able to support her. She has to be brought outside in a sling. Ever try to help a partially crippled 90 lb. dog get in position to poo? I think that explains it all. We got a mobile vet to come in and check her out, and hopefully she will improve soon with care and medications, although it’s not certain. In the meantime, it’s amazing how a sick dog can bring your life to a standstill.
