A moment of Filipino nostalgia during lunch at Lola’s Kusina in Marina today. I had the michado and pinakbet with steamed rice. My companion had dinaguan and vinegary sinigang baboy.
Mmm. I needed that.
I recently attended a party featuring Filipino food from a hole-in-the wall place in Marina place behind the Wells Fargo on Reservation. The host was a Filipino and I was pretty impressed with the food, esp. the jackfruit stew (forgot name of it). I think it goes by the unique name of “Asian Kitchen.” ;`>
Hmm, I’ve never eaten there. the fruit stew is called ginataan. Lola’s offers that too.
